1. What’s your name?
Craig Richey
2. How long have you been in the bike industry?
In 2000, I got the mountain biker grom dream job working at a my local bike shop. I then signed the back of my paychecks for the next two years to go towards my shop account balance.
3. What do you do at Race Face?
Director of Brand and Product Marketing
4. What’s one weird fact about you?
As a kid I was archery provincial champion
5. How often do you ride?
Between commuting to work and riding to work I used to ride six days a week. Now with a new baby at home, I’m averaging 1 or 2 rides outside a week.
6. What type of riding do you do?
Riding in my passion and I don’t discriminate, as long as I’m on two wheels I’m happy. Mostly trail and gravel currently.
7. What’s your favourite trail?
Roughneck to Gingersnaps in Cumberland
8. What made you pick this bike over others?
This is my second Django and I love the versatility of this bike. I run the flip-chip in the high setting for a slightly more XC geo. With such a fancy spec the bike is very light and is raceable for local XC races and I can hang on an All-Mountain ride. I have a bigger and smaller bike but for any type of road trip or when I don’t know what the days ride will entail I always go for the Django.
9. What is your favourite component or part of your bike and why?
The new 2022 Fox 34 fork is unreal, very light and feels like a mini-36. The Next R wheels are also a favorite with a great on trail feel and amazing durability. This set is 2 years old and I have taken them from bike to bike and they have remained perfectly true.
10. Have you changed/added anything to your bike to suit your riding style?
The bike is a full custom build choosing exactly the parts I wanted. Latest edition is the new Wicked Will tires which pair well with the bike and my riding style.
