Are the Era Wheels tubeless-ready?
Yes, the Era Wheels are designed to be fully tubeless-ready for immediate use and come prepared for a convenient setup.
To ensure a hassle-free transition to tubeless, the wheels are supplied with the necessary components pre-installed:
- Tubeless rim tape is already installed on the rims.
- Tubeless valves are included and ready to go.
This means the wheels are prepared to accept sealant and tubeless tires right out of the box.
What is the maximum system weight rating?
The Era Wheels are built for durability and aggressive riding, rated to handle a high system weight, with specific limitations for eMTB use.
- Maximum System Weight Rating: The maximum permissible system weight (rider, bike, and gear) is 140 kg (306 lbs).
- eMTB Usage: For eMTB applications, only the 6-Bolt configurations are approved, rated for a maximum drive assist torque of 65 Nm. The Centerlock versions are not eMTB approved.
Are there different rotor mount options available?
Yes, the Era wheels are available with either 6-bolt or Centerlock rotor mounts to accommodate your specific braking setup. Please note that for eMTB usage, only the 6-bolt models are approved (up to 65Nm of torque), while the Centerlock models are not eMTB rated.
Are extra spokes included with the wheels?
Yes, Race Face ensures the Era Wheels are ready for long-term use and maintenance by including necessary spares and components. This attention to detail supports the wheel’s durability and rider convenience.
Each individual wheel purchase (front or rear) includes:
- 5 extra straight-pull spokes to support immediate or future repairs.
- The wheel arrives tubeless ready, with tubeless tape installed and a tubeless valve included.
Do these wheels stay true over time?
Yes, these wheels are built for long-term durability. Owners have confirmed that even after a full year of intensive enduro riding, the wheels remain true, straight, and rolling perfectly, maintaining the same performance as the day they were installed.
Does the hub require frequent maintenance?
These wheels feature the renowned Race Face Vault hub, which is highly regarded for its reliability. Riders have noted that these hubs handle significant abuse while requiring less maintenance compared to many competing hub systems.
